CacheSense paperless geocaching
for all BlackBerry® Smartphones

Using CacheSense with a Basic Membership
A basic membership at geocaching.com allows you to download geocaches in the LOC waypoint format. This format contains very little in the way of geocaching information, what it does contain is the name and GC number of the cache, the coordinates and the URL of the cache at geocaching.com.. this is just enough information to go Paperless Geocaching!
On the road with Cachesense...
  1. Find the nearest caches: Click any cache (you need to have at least one cache loaded) then select Compass... from the detail screen menu. Once you have a GPS fix on the compass select Web Search... from the compass menu.
  2. Load caches into CacheSense: Click the “Check All” button at the bottom of the page then the “Download Waypoints” button. You will now see a “Merge or Replace” prompt from CacheSense, click the desired option to load the waypoints.
  3. Sort by distance: Select Sort then “Sort by Location“and finally “GPS Location”, wait for a GPS fix then click OK. The caches will now be sorted with caches nearest to you at the top of the list. Make sure you have the “Distance” and “Bearing” columns visible (select Columns... from the main menu).
  4. Show caches on a map: You can view selected caches on Google Maps for Mobile or BlackBerry Maps. “Tag” the desired caches by holding the SHIFT key while you roll or click the trackball (or use multitouch on the Storm) then select the desired map option from the menu.
  5. View cache details: Open the next cache you want to find and select Website... from the menu, this will open the cache detail web page at geocaching.com where you can view the description, hints and logs for the cache.
  6. Find it! Back in the CacheSense detail screen, select Compass...” (or Radar...) from the menu and start walking...
